Seasonal Flu

Flu Vaccine is available at all Public Health Clinics during regular immunization hours and by appointment.  See the attached flyer at the bottom of the page.

Influenza circulates through our communities yearly, and we have come to call its regular appearance “seasonal flu”.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend a yearly seasonal flu vaccine as the first and most important step in protecting against seasonal influenza.  However, whether you get a flu vaccine or not, we should all go one step further and adopt habits that will help lower our risk of catching contagious illnesses, including the flu:
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  • If you are sick with flu–like illness, stay home.
